Walker Choppin retired in May of 2017 after a 43-year career in commercial banking and corporate finance, specializing in for-profit and not-for-profit healthcare service providers. He managed the healthcare banking group for Bank of America in Nashville from 1984 until 2000 and managed the healthcare banking division for U.S. Bank in Nashville beginning in 2001.

Prior to retirement, Walker was with Tennessee Bank & Trust as its Senior Lending Officer. He also served as the Treasurer for Tennessee Natural Gas Lines in 1980, as the Chief Financial Officer for America Service Group (a provider of contracted healthcare services to correctional agencies) in 2000 and as Chief Credit Officer for Physicians Capital (a boutique lender to ambulatory surgery centers) in 2009, all in Nashville.

Walker is a graduate of Vanderbilt University with a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, married with three grown children; he has been active with the Boy Scouts of America and has been a long-time board member for the Samaritans Recovery Communities in Nashville.
