Prior to joining Compass, Jorge Tarajano worked as CEO with over 35 years of experience driving organizational progress and continuous improvement with an industrial construction company. During his tenure the organization was transformed from being a local company into one with a regional market presence through organic growth, diversification of products and services, strategic partnerships, and acquisitions which enabled the company to meet the demands of their large corporate clients. Jorge led the conversion, implementation, and transition of the company from a family owned business to an ESOP.
Jorge’s proficiencies include: Family Business; Succession Planning for a company and/or management team; Strategic Planning, Exit Planning for a company and/or its Senior Managers; Safety, Risk Management, and Insurance; Manufacturing; Mergers and Acquisition; Advisory Boards; and operational management.
From 2008 to 2017, Jorge was appointed to represent the Construction Industry on the Louisiana Workforce Investment Council, WIC. The WIC serves as an advisory council to the Governor and is responsible for the strategic plan for a comprehensive workforce development system to address the needs of Louisiana’s employers and its workforce. While on LWIC, Jorge chaired a newly formed Craft Workforce Development Subcommittee from 2013 to 2015. This subcommittee coordinated the efforts of state agencies, community and technical colleges, K-12 Education, and private industry and established technical, craft and vocational paths from education to employment. Jorge has served as a board member and/or leadership position in several business and civic organizations.
